Human Papillomavirus ( HPV) causes 99.9% cervical cancer and the vaccine is so successful that it has eradicated 22.7% down to 1.1% in Australian women.
These findings were so impressive that it was published in the Journal of Infectious Diseases generating significant enthusiasm from the medical community.
The combination of early screening and HPV vaccine for both boys and girls will effectively combat cervical cancer and it will position Australia to become the first country in the world to destroy this deadly cancer.
