Last summer I've spent my vacation in an exclusive all-in resort in the Dominican. Everything was taken care of and we got treated like royalties. On the road back to the airport the bus drove us through the suburbs. You could see the poverty and it actually made me feel bad. These people work they're a**es of every day under harsh circumstances.
The following picture tells a lot
This truck is packed to the max. Our host told us these guys work in construction and they could be without a job the next morning. Every morning the truck drives to the same location to pick up workers. The driver randomly picks a limited number men who show up at the location.
Another thing I noticed is that Dominicans use motorcycles to transport 3 to 4 people.
These bike go very fast and even drive on the highway.
These people are challenged in daily events we take for granted, like going to work. And they can still smile.
