Hello Steemians! Today I have a question for you:
Would you live eternally if you had the chance?
I know you would say, "But why would not I want to be immortal? I could graduate all the careers I wanted, I could fulfill all my goals without fear of dying before achieving them and although my relatives could eventually die, I could make great advances for humanity"
But, if I tell you that it is possible that being immortal changes the way you think?
I recently saw a video where Neil deGrasse Tyson said something that I end up adopting, and now I also believe faithfully in that. I will try to recite his words as closely as possible: "I think that the knowledge that I am going to die is what creates the focus ... the rush for achievement, the need for express love, now ... not later ... If I were immortal, why would I want to get out of bed in the morning? If I always have a tomorrow to fulfill my goals, that is not the life I want to live. And I am not afraid of death, I am not afraid of the unknown, I love the unknown ... do you know that I would like them to be placed in my grave? 'Feel ashamed to die until you have made an achievement for humanity'"
And you? What do you believe in? Would you live forever if you could? why?
