Recently I had the need for career guidance to conduct demonstration tests on the IQ of students, to tell them about this technique, what many may face when looking for work. I know that in our days some companies are still using the tests, it's weird, but true.
I'm sure many of you faced with the mention of the notorious IQ or intelligence quotient of a person. The term itself comes from the phrase intelligence quotient with the filing of the German psychologist William stern, and involves assessing the level of mental development as a result of passing special tests.
The first IQ tests was prepared in the early twentieth century work of the French psychologists Binet and Simon, then their scale was adapted for the United States, Stanford psychologist Dr. Thurman, however, she had flaws - all calculations were aimed at children. Pull the time, was prepared, and the adult test WAIS David Wechsler, which provided an opportunity to identify learning disability (identified high scores in some areas and low in others). The most famous was the work of Hans Eysenck, as a result of the popularization of tests which found out about them almost all, and the phrase "low IQ" is addressed to man in General has become a euphemism.
IQ tests are designed so that their results are described by distribution method: in which the IQ of half the people on the planet is between the values of 85 and 115 points, and the other half is distributed equally below and above these values.
The tests themselves assess IQ contain many tasks with increasing complexity in spatial and logical thinking and so on. You immediately notice that the more a person goes through such tests, the better become the results in the replay. This standard test does not exist, there are many variations of both Amateur and professional (Eysenck, Amthauer, Ravena, etc.).
It is important to understand that the test consists of many sections, and all test results are summarized with mean value, so for example a simple man with outstanding talent, creative thinking, but bad logic can get a low average IQ.
For a variety of opinions on the level of our IQ is influenced by such factors as:
- genetic, i.e., our heredity,
- the environment, the "microclimate" in the family, financial situation,
- social group of the society in which we long to arrive home.
We all have the ability to train their intellectual abilities, which can and should develop. Whether various games, tests, puzzles, tasks, or reading and communicating with intelligent people.
The world around us is not the same, and now you need to constantly learn, and not to stand still. A couple of months ago I never imagined how to keep a blog, what is the blockchain, and why you need the tokens, but the desire to be modern, to share their thoughts, chat with new people, of course, and some extra motivation helped me to develop...
Although IQ tests assess logical thinking, spatial imagination, etc., it should be noted that they are not designed to assess knowledge of specific areas the tests measure only the ability to solve problems, patterns and connections between information. Therefore, it is necessary to remember about the so-called emotional intelligence, nowadays it becomes more significant advantage.
Watch and remember that high IQ scores are not always talking about intellect, sometimes it can be just an ability, the ability to quickly and clearly pass the tests and prepare for them...
