What's this story about?
This is a story about Donny, a wonderful man who works at my mom's pizza shop.
He has long been known as the 'fun, funny guy' but he has definitely seen tough times. So when someone is in a struggle, it is just a natural instinct for him to help.
When this little boy found his way to the shop, he had him lit with the biggest smile you could imagine. And thhey would always talk, sometimes for over half an hour ... always about the most random things.
But this boy had a special attachment, because he was in foster care after leaving a troubled home. He just wanted positive people who cared enough to actually get down to his level.
So what happened exactly?
On the day he was finally placed with a new family, his foster mother requested to meet with them.
Apparently, the little boy asked to have pizza with both his foster mother and his new family.
This tore at me a bit to hear from my mother yesterday, because I've seen him interact with this boy first-hand before and I always thought he knew him.
It made me want to cry!
