Notre-Dame is one of Paris's biggest landmarks. It was built in the 12th century and was an architectural work of art. As if Paris had not suffered enough in recent years, on Monday, April 15, a fire broke out that destroyed the cathedral. 500 firefighters fought the fire and on Tuesday morning the flames could be completely extinguished. Fortunately, not everything was lost and the structure of the building could be saved š

Now France and the rest of the world are concerned with the rebuilding of the world cultural heritage. Several French super-rich announced to donate hundreds of millions of euros for the restoration of the cathedral. Even two of France richest men, the owner of Louis Vuitton and Gucci, have pledged to donate $300m to help repair Notre Dame. Macron promised to seek out the most talented artists to rebuild the cathedral.
According to information from the French news agency AFP, the fire could be related to renovations and the police also do not believe that there is a terrorist background. More informations havenĀ“t been published yet.Ā
I know that many of my followers come from overseas and have never been to Notre-Dame so I will share some pictures of what it looked like before the fire and now. To give you an idea of the size of the cathedral - 10 thousand people could fit in Notre-Dame!
I am happy that no one got hurt, and pray for Paris that they can rebuild their landmark quickly and nothing more will happen.
France is close to Germany and especially Paris is a city that I respect and love traveling to. I feel sorry for all the events the french people have to go through but I donĀ“t want to talk about my opinion here, I leave it open for discussion.Ā
