Don't look for motivation. Find your why, then no excuses will come between you and your goals.
It´s been three days since I haven´t been to the gym which is because I was infected with a stomach intestinal virus. I usually go to the gym at least five times a week so three days without lifting weights feels like a century to me. Anyway, I often read the question how I stay motivated during my trips. There is so much to see, so many different activities, sights and people usually want to explore the city but let me tell you something... It´s all about the right schedule!
Before you start to plan your schedule you should really set up some goals. Do you want to improve your health? Do you want to define your body and build muscles? Do you want to learn how to make money online? Do you want to learn a new language? And so on... Mine was to build the body I dream of and to work while I´m traveling. Since I am on a business trip with my business partners and friends, it´s very easy for me to integrate work with traveling. Everyone of us is motivated to bring our project to the next level but we also take some time to enjoy end explore the nature.
Let´s talk about fitness because this is often a problem when people are on a vacation. They eat a lot of good food, they are relaxing at the roof top pool, they are enjoying the new lifestyle and totally forget about their health. Let me tell you how I handle it...
Fitness
I have been into fitness/lifting weights since almost 4 months. Before that I used to dance at least three times a week but I wanted more. I am still young which means its easy to reach new goals especially when my body is 100% healthy. People usually have an ideal picture of themselves and so do I. Thinking about reaching that goal makes it easy for me to work hard for it. When we flew to Thailand, I already knew the city where we wanted to stay had some nice gyms. I knew that there would be no excuses so I looked for a gym near me and started directly. It opens at 8 in the morning and closes at 8 in the evening. There is always one hour to train even if the others are still asleep.
Here is a little insight of my gym experience
The View
The view is maybe the best feature in the whole gym. It is located on the rooftop of our hotel which means you have a view all over the ocean! I really like to let go all of my thoughts during my workouts and this is maybe the best place for it..
The weights
Many gyms offer great devices for cardio but a fitness studio with weights is very rare in the hotel section. There are some gyms for professionals but you have to pay them a lot in order to train at their property. I was very happy when I first walked in and saw all dumbbells.
You always feel good when you come early and leave as the last one...
What motivates me is keeping an eye to my goal. There are several girls on social media who work hard in the gym because its their business. But who says I can only be that motivated when it´s my job? That´s why I´d like to watch some workout videos from my fitness idols before I hit the gym...
