Hello, friends! Today I was reading a book, in which the main character works as a chimney sweep. And suddenly I wondered, and there is whether now such a profession? I looked on the Internet and what do you think? It turns out, that currently there are many professions that have disappeared altogether. Today, computers, machines, and automation do a variety of things that we may not even notice. But before all this was done by people. Representatives of some of them I have never even seen, because when I was born, these professions have already disappeared. For example:
- Ratcatcher. Before the invention of the rat trap, the job of catching rats was carried out by the people. Profession was a dangerous one, as the ratcatcher is constantly exposed to bites and thus infection carried by rats.
- Chimney sweep. People, who have removed the soot from the chimneys of furnaces.
- Alarm-man. Now we are woken up by electronic alarm clocks, and earlier it was made by the special person. He walked the streets and knocked on the windows and doors to make sure people woke up.
- Thief of corpses. These people dug corpses from graves for the needs of medical University students.
- Lamplighter. We are accustomed to the fact that street lights automatically turn on at dusk and off in the morning. But before it should be was the lamplighter. Using a long pole, he extinguished, lit and refueled street lights.
Incredibly interesting, isn't it? There are a number of professions that will soon disappear in India. Today, there are only a few representatives of these professions. For example, a snake charmer, yarn sleeper, sweeper. In India, this is due to the disappearance of the social hierarchy, that has existed for centuries. For many hindus belonging to a particular caste defined occupation. But now that caste discrimination is prohibited by law, people are free to choose any profession for themselves.
In addition, there are professions, that are projected to disappear before 2030. This: postman, travel agent, lumberjack, newspaper reporter. Together with the list of obsolete professions, there is a list of professions that our future stands for. For example, a consultant on productivity, a specialist in microflora, a trader of alternative currencies. Who knows, maybe in 30 years your grandchildren will ask you: "Who did you work? Newspaper reporter? And who is this?"And you, in your turn, ask your grandson:" who are you going to study for? On the trader of alternative currencies? What's he doing?"
