There are different groups or school of fishes, mammals or sea creatures in the ocean. Even here in Steemit, there are different kinds of groups we belong.
A group o whales is commonly called a pod, a school or a gam.
They can also be called:

A pod usually consists a group of whales that have bonded together either because of biological reasons or through friendships developed between two or more whales.
In many cases a typical whale pod consists of anywhere from 2 to 30 whales or more.
The larger baleen whales tend to prefer small groups or traveling alone.
In fact some of the larger baleen whales are so big they don’t have any fear being attacked, so they can feel confident swimming alone or in small pods.

Here in Steemit, Some whale preferred to be alone as they can survive having their own high SP or some get along with other whales only. But there are still whales who has a humble and generous heart who get along with dolphins and minnows.
A group of dolphins is called a pod. A pod usually is formed of around 12 dolphins, and it is the usual social group of dolphins.
However, when a group of pods joins in places with an abundance of food, they can reach up to one thousand individuals forming a large group which is called a superpod.
Superpods are not for a long time, and they dissolve after a while. Additionally, another way to call a group of dolphins is “school.”

Shoaling and schooling behavior of common minnows occur early in their development, as soon as they become capable of swimming.
Shoaling behavior then increases and becomes dominant by three to four weeks after its emergence.This behavior generally benefits individual minnows by improving predator avoidance and foraging.
Shoaling behavior is modified depending on the situation such as presence of predators or resource availability.
