The horror of total #war is unimaginable but the decision to drop the 2nd Atomic bomb ( Fat Man) over a populated area like Nagasaki is hard to imagine. The decision makers in the White House war room knew the devastation that was caused by the"Fat Man" bomb dropped on Hiroshima on August 6th , 1945.
To repeat this knowing the total devastation and the massive civilian casualties that would be caused defies belief; they had demonstrated the A Bombs power, all you can say is it was an indefensible Live fire experiment to see the effects of the different type bomb.

This anniversary has much more meaning to me today as I am hosting a young Japanese exchange student with my family, who lives only a short distance across the bay from Nagasaki. He told me that his Grand mother was born in Hiroshima.
I pray that we never see the horror of a nuclear bomb used in anger again.
