Six days ago I turned 18, for the first time in my life I am an adult. Before I turned 18 I have traveled alone long term on two separate occasions.
- The first time was in the summer between years at High School. I toured around Nicaragua for a month doing things such as volcano boarding, fishing, riding a scooter and other adventurous exciting things.
- The second time I ventured out into the world on my own was this March. I was dealing with an ACL injury so I decided that Mexico would be a good place to work on my leg. I spent over a month enjoying the beautiful beaches of Playa Del Carmen and Cancun as well as experiencing some of the fascinating Mexican culture.
#Now what am I going to do now that I'm 18
Over the past 36 hours I have been traveling to where I currently am Leon, Nicaragua. I feel this is a great place to start on my own, learn and enjoy my life. I'm not a child anymore so if I don't want to deal with the freezing cold Western Canadian winters I don't have any excuse.
I now will continue on my path to Spanish fluency as well establish businesses and living an interesting life.
I believe that the best thing I could have done is leaving home and becoming an independent man who rows his own boat.
I thank you for reading and if you have any comments I would appreciate reading them.
