God’s Intention (Purpose)
In Matthew 13:11 NIV, Jesus said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them (religious people).”
We have to learn the secrets. We have to go through the process of education, so we can apply what we understand. It’s very tough to teach and train humans because in Acts 1:3, the disciples still didn’t get the message of Jesus. Jesus had to repeat it again. The disciples were asking, when will He replaced the kingdom of Rome. Jesus told them in a way that they have missed it. He’s not here to fight the military battle, which is to Jesus, it’s temporary. Jesus did not come for a temporary victory.
Have you ever noticed, God never allowed anyone to find the cross, Jesus was on, or which mountain Moses died on. God buried him and hid him, Himself. Moses body was never found because human has a tendency to display it or an admiration of the spot or the location. We turn the experience into a religion, then the experience becomes more important than the purpose (intention) for the experience. The purpose of Jesus was to give us back the kingdom, but some are stuck in the healing, the blood, the Calvary, grace or prosperity messages. These are good, but the kingdom of heaven is Jesus’ mission. (Matthew 4:17)
Colonization (extension of heaven to earth) is the motivations of the scriptures. God‘s purpose, in one statement is to influence or impact the earth with heavens culture or glory. We don’t want to complicate the message or make it a religion or a ritual thing. We want to simplify it, so others can understand. This is what Jesus taught, Jesus said, He came back, to bring back the kingdom of God to earth, not a religion or ritual. One of the heart of the Bible is in Luke 7:30 “The Pharisees and the experts in the law rejected God’s purpose for themselves because they had not been baptized by John.” This is an important statement and it’s regarding God’s purpose. Religious people usually missed God’s purpose because God‘s purpose (intention) is the opposite to religion. It says, they did not embrace God‘s message for themselves. God has a plan in our favor and the religious people rejected it. In order to keep their religion, they will reject God‘s message. Religion will never agree with Jesus’ message of the Kingdom of Heaven. Reject means there was an opportunity to accept. Rejection is always a decision in the place of an option. We have an option, but we decided to reject it. The religious people didn’t accept and were not baptized by John because John’s baptism was in the kingdom. What is John baptizing people with? Well, in Matthew 3:1-2, “In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near (here).’” By not being baptized by John, it’s proof that the religious leaders rejected John’s message of the kingdom. In turn, rejected Jesus.
That’s why the United States is having a difficult time and struggling. They are removing God everywhere. If we are not careful, we might end-up that way. However, Jesus told us to pray for the opposite. Holy means different, distinct, pure or unique. Holy is His Name means character. In other words, different as His character. Jesus said, there’s no one like my Father. We pray, “Your kingdom come, your will (purpose) be done.” Amen! God bless you!
Notes: The key to life is discovering someone’s intention. Misunderstanding is the result of not understanding the person’s intent. If we don’t understand their intentions, then we will always misinterpret their actions. So, the will (purpose) is more important than the work. The intention is more important than the actions.
