Whenever I perceive a situation or someone to be negative, I remove myself from the equation immediately. This is something I would advise anyone to do, because that kind of energy can be toxic to your life. But what if you don’t have a choice? What if you have to deal with a negative situation or worse someone completely negative? This is the real word and that means being mature about life and tackling the issues as they come along. Negativity will try to creep into your life whether it’s at work or even at home. It can become unavoidable. The truth is you have no control over whatever situation that presents itself in your life and sadly you have no control over someone else’s energy.
When this happens you just have to remember that you can control how you react to any situation or person by keeping a positive mindset and staying in a good mood. I know this easier said than done, but it is doable. I like to think it’s the universe’s way of testing my faith, my patience and my growth. The aim of any test of course is to pass. These few tips have really helped me to stay centered through any negative experience:
- Start your days with something positive – I subscribe to a lot of positivity blogs here. I start my day by reading quotes, articles and listening to videos with like minded people, these help me to start the day on a positive note. They inspire me to stay positive and bring my energy into a higher vibration of peace.
Recognize what the situation – You have to be honest with yourself. If a situation or a person is being negative towards you accept it for what is and act accordingly. Do not overanalyze it.
Pray – When you feel yourself slipping, stop whatever you’re doing. Take a deep breath and close your eyes. Count to 10 and clear your mind. Do a silent prayer and ask for strength and guidance to handle whatever situation is in front of you.
Treat yourself – This is important reward yourself for your efforts because you deserve it! This will definitely help you relieve stress and make you feel good.
Make a change – Finally you have to commit and align your life to positive relationships at work and at home. Most importantly you have the ultimate control over your moods and energy. Keep your spirit leveled and focused on staying positive regardless of anything. Be a shield and do not allow negativity to penetrate your energy. Eventually the universe will remove the negativity from your path.
Remember you are in charge of your entire life, you have no one to blame for what you are feeling but yourself. Blaming someone else is also a form of negativity that most people don’t realize. Take charge of your energy by taking these tips into action!
