This is first time I'm sharing something so personal to me onSocial Media.
Of course my, friends and family know about it, but no one else. Let me dive right into it.
The recent episode of Sleep Paralysis I encountered was on 5th Wednesday, 2017.
First let me explain what sleep paralysis actually is.

Sleep Paralysis is a phenomenon where you are asleep but fully aware of your surroundings, but are unable to move or make any physical movements. Simply put, you are stuck in a dream and can't snap out of it because your brain is not sending any signals to your body to wake up or to move even a single muscle.

Does that sound scary?
It is! I have had sleep paralysis maybe like 3 to 4 times. Every time I was fully aware of my environment. In my dream I was in the exact place where I have fallen asleep! It's the same every time for me. Everything seems to be so normal at first and then you start noticing something is a little off.
I was stuck in a loop and every move I made in the dream would repeat again in a few seconds. I was trying so hard to wake up, I would scream in my dream, I would cry even, but it never helped. The only thing that saved me every time were my friends! I would either hear my roommate's voice was or get a drunken call from my best friend at 5 o'clock in the morning! Which is a miracle by the way. Every time I woke up I would be just shaking because of the fear.

The demon in the picture is like "Hey there gorgeous!".
There's a myth saying that it's caused by demons which I think is total nonsense.
I have read about this condition. The are several reasons why this could happen. It could be anxiety, excessive stress, sleep deprivation, narcolepsy, depression etc. My problem could be just sleep deprivation and anxiety. I guess it's common among young adults? I'm 23 years old and I'm still figuring things out in life. I don't know how to adult, not yet anyway. I guess many can relate to that.
If you have read this far, thank you so much for reading! You are awesome! I have probably received more support on Steemit than anywhere else (other than my family and friends). I love you all!
