Yes robots (automation in general) are a big threat for jobs. It is amazing how many people argue against this premise citing that the mantra always has been that tech will take jobs. Well, here is a fact: technology never advanced at the pace it is going and taking jobs in such a short period of time. It was this realization that made me a proponent of universal basic income. We are going to have to establish a baseline standard of living for most people.
