Many tourists visit Turkey every year. When people are asked what they know about this country, their answers are usually all about İstanbul and Antalya. Now, let me take you to another beautiful city in Turkey, İzmir. The city of İzmir which is located in the western part of the country is the third biggest city of Turkey. This ancient and modern city where around 5.000.000 people live ıs one of the most important tourist attractions in Turkey. As my city is by the aegean sea, we are currently an important point for syrian refugees.

İzmir is known as one of the most secular cities in Turkey. There are many universities and young population is quite high. When the city is compared with İstanbul and Ankara which is the capital, life is much easier and more fun I can say. The best thing I love about my city is its nice weather and people. As people are so relaxed and free, all people can do whatever they want without disturbing others. City is home to mosques and churches at the same time which proves how modern it is.
İzmir Clock Tower is the main symbol of my city. It is located at the center of city which is Konak. This historical monument which was given by Germans to ottomans as a gift was completed in 1901. If you ever come to İzmir, you should come to this point and take a photo to prove that you are in the center of the city! :)
