I live in an old beautiful flat/kind of house in the East London. The property is quite old and when it's raining the whole day we have all kind of funny little problems to solve. I wake up in a cloudy but dry day and had my morning routine. Happy as a bee to go to work I left my flat singing and I was ready to get down on the stairs.
My neighbor from upstairs she has more or less same timing as myself and we meet on my floor (first one) and greet each other before we go separate ways. So this morning she was cheerful as well and we shared a smile. We went both down on the stairs and and I did tried to open the front door. It's stuck!!! I realised.
I did fight with the door for 3 minutes, she tried once as well. I could not pull the inside door knob strong enough to make it open. We were stuck in our place with no access to the world outside. I rushed up to pick up a knife and she tried to phone the estate agency. With the knife I tried to push the edge of the door towards inside. A lost battle, as the swall was way to big for me to be able to scratch it.
My neighbor lost faith very soon and she was sitting on the stairs looking desperate. She tried few more times with the property management and then she realised they will not even start until 8am. It was funny for me to see how different we react to "stress/danger". She is the running type I am for sure the fighting one.
I went back in my apartment as my room has a street view. Not very crowded at the first hour, do almost no-one was passing by. I did spotted a man that was with the coffee in his hand and ready to go back to his car to continue driving. I made enough noise to catch his attention and explain the situation and what I want him to do. My idea was that he needs to push from outside as the space was much bigger and he can have a better momentum. A bit surprised, he was willing to help the modern Julietta and he did what I've asked him.
On the third try the door ceased and let us go out. We let it a bit open and I think I will need to do some edge cutting when I will be back home. I am as modern warrior that doesn't let the water ruin my good mood and my morning routine. Is my door and I fight to get it open :)) 😄😄
I hope you have a funny lunch and less domestic issues for this day,
Teodora
