My First Try In Mining BurstCoin? Let's See How This Goes!
After really trying to see where I can make XtraMoney in the cryptocurrency scene, I've dabbled in several different projects hoping one of them takes off.
I also hope that few will turn modest profits, and I assume several will be busts.
Here's what I've been up to so far in the last 3 months:
- I'm mining Ether at 208 MH/s and Bitcoin at 6 TH/s on Genesis Mining.
- I've invested in the PeerPlays ICO, Bancor ICO, and Civic ICO.
- I also made 2 contracts with Bitconnect lending - $1150 and $5110 respectively.
- I've bought with the intent to hold long term: Litecoin, Bitshares, Ripple, BAT, Ether Classic, Lumen, and Digibyte.
- I seeded my Steemit account with about $1100, and grown our follower count to now over 1100 in just under 2 months. (Getting a few good returns on some of our articles so far - very exciting!)
And I'm Now Trying To Mine BurstCoin
I'm basically being a test dummy for many of my friends who are following my progress and seeing if I'm very smart or very stupid with my money! (I'm hoping the former)
I wanted to try out the "mining-using-hard-drive-space" model that BurstCoin uses. They say it uses very little electricity, very little CPU power, and no special GPU's are required due to this.
I'm starting out with just two 8 TB external usb 3.0 hard-drives.
I got them in from Amazon today, and the price I was able to get worked out to about $22 per TB in space.
So I'll start mining with 16 TB and give this a whirl!
If it looks to become a worthwhile project then I hope to ramp up to about 150 TB in the next 2 months.
The drives are being "plotted" as I'm writing this, and I should be able to start mining in about 6 hours!
I'll keep updating my progress with reports of earnings and any other interesting info that I come across while on this project.
