Hi, Steemians!
A few months ago, I had a Japanese friend that came here in Cebu. She stayed here for three days, and She wanted to explore Cebu and have some relaxation on the beach. Since she is special to me and I am available that time and my co steemians . we decided to be her tour guide. This is my first time to experience being a tour guide, I thought its just easy but it wasn't. She wanted to explore the South of Cebu and She likes to do Oslob Whale Shark Watching.
One of the best things about Oslob is jam-packed with so many unique natural wonders. Come to think of it, each municipality has its own set of “specialty” attractions, and much more are still being discovered.
Our first stop ( Watching of whale sharks in Oslob Cebu )
Watching of whale sharks in Oslob Cebu is 99% guaranteed. Whale sharks can be seen in a small barangay Tan-awan, which is 10 km away from the center town of Oslob.it started last September 2011 and it became popular all over the world when the news hit in the internet last November 2011. By December 2011, local fishermen’s interact with the whale sharks by feeding them that result to flocking of tourist to the beach of Tan-awan. Large numbers of tourists began arriving in Oslob not just to see the whale sharks being fed but also to snorkel or dive with them.
Get fascinated to watch friendly creatures of the sea as you enjoy watching and swimming with the friendly whale sharks in Oslob Cebu! Come and enjoy the adventure of a lifetime experience.
Our Second stop ( Tumalog Falls in Oslob)
One of these natural wonders is the unique horseshoe waterfall of Tumalog Falls in Oslob, a municipality 170 kilometers from Cebu City. Lately, it has gotten a lot of attention after it became a side trip for people who wish to see the butandings.
To get to the foot of Tumalog Falls, we had to walk down this really steep road.
As the road comes to a dead end, we saw a series of runoffs, or tiers, that allow the excess water from the waterfalls’ main basin to flow away. The runoffs feed a stream that lead deeper into the forest.
Behold the beauty of the diaphanous curtain of the awesome Tumalog Falls. It is simply a well-orchestrated melody; the forest-covered waterfall is so massive that it covers an entire cliff. Yet the cool, clear water falling from the cliff comes in delicate curtains.
Tumalog Falls is an example of a horsetail waterfall in which the descending water remains in contact with the rock most of the time.
Our Third stop ( Maiinit Springs in Malabuyoc )
The town of Malabuyoc is located in the southwestern part of the island. While it may not be as visible on a regular tourist’s radar, the town does offer a number of interesting places to visit. The Mainit Hot Springs is one of these places. “Mainit” is the Cebuano word for hot.
The pools are different temperatures and sign posted with the temperature. I asked one of the locals how it is so specific and he said it is always the same with a tiny fluctuation. One hot spring was 42 degrees, which was incredibly hot. So hot in fact that we had trouble getting in unless we lowered our bodies very slowly into the water.
Our final destination ( Kawasan Falls in Badian Cebu )
Kawasan Falls is a three-stage cascade of clear turquoise water from mountain springs located in the jungles of the Cebu island.
Here awaits turquoise blue water where you can swim around and relax. For those who are more adventurous, one could also embark on a bamboo raft and go for a ride under the waterfall and at the same time receive a tremendous neck massage by the pouring water
Since we were so tired for the whole day travel and hungry at the same time we deserve to have a sumptuous dinner. We went to Chosun Galbi ( Korean restaurant)in Lahug Cebu City. The food was great and delicious, its affordable and the staff are accommodating. But what I love most is there free chicken salad!
The trip was enjoyable and knowledgeable. I have learned a lot from it. It tested my patience and face my fear. but its all worth it. Since it helps me to build confidence and be ready to face any challenges in life. I had a great feeling that I promote the natural wonders of Cebu to other nationality. Cebu is like a paradise of multiple facets. It’s no wonder then why so many visitors, local or foreign, fall in love with Cebu. and I'm so proud that I was born and raised here in Cebu. Thank you so much for being part of this adventure, without you it won't be fun and exciting.
XOXO
