An Aussie cartoon of the 90's
As I mention in the header, Blinky Bill is a classic cartoon in the 90's for us Aussie kids. Based on a 1930's character by author Dorothy Wall, Blinky Bill is a mischievous koala pulling stunts and having fun, all while on adventures with his friends around the town of Greenpatch. It all starts in the first series called 'The Adventures of Blinky Bill' which is all situated in their town with the bad characters generally being the dingo family that have moved in nearby to cause trouble amongst them all.
The second series is the only other I watched as there is a third as well, but the second is 'Blinky Bill's Extraordinary Excursion' which deals with getting lost while on a school excursion in the Australian outback and finding their way home. This calls for a mixed bag of good and bad adventures to which they need to work out how to complete while continuing home.
Growing up with this as one of my shows I would always watch, it was a whole different feeling compared to these days. A kid getting to watch an Australian cartoon on TV, not having the internet or mobile phones, all while enjoying the day and life including running a muck out in the streets etc. This show is great to watch and enjoy and I would recommend checking it out, remembering that it is from the 90's!
There are so many memories from my childhood that I miss and wish I could relive as everything in this day and age isn't so simple with the technology being a part of nearly everything, the way the world is and the way people act.
