China has spent $126.6 billion dollars on renewable energy in 2017 compared to $40.5 billion by the United States. China has been spending more on renewable energy than the United States since 2009. Our (USA) dependency and promotion of crude oil usage is discouraging.
China, India, and Brazil account for 63% of the global spending on renewable energy last year.
China currently has a major air pollution issue that is nicknamed airpocalypse as it is so bad it shortens the life of everyone that lives there by about 3 years. China has been aggressively trying to change that by moving to clean renewable energy as fast as it can. China is currently using around 20% renewable energy and 60% coal.
The United States renewable usage is around 17% of the total electricity production. with solar only accounting for about 1.3% of that. Coal usage is around 30% with natural gas a little higher at 31.7%. Nuclear power accounts for 20% of United States total energy generation.
