Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all. Although only a few of us are of Irish ancestry...lots of people still join in the festivities on this lovely day. Few probably know the story surrounding St.Patrick himself...https://www.history.com/topics/st-patricks-day
This doesn’t stop us from gorging our faces full of corned beef and guzzlin down green beer!
Today, I chose to take the kids to a local festival. After sitting in traffic for what seemed like a century, and driving in circles in order to find parking...we finally made it. Several stages were set up, and you could hear the sounds of flutes and other instruments along with some traditional Irish tunes. It was like looking out into a sea of people all in shades of green from lime to emerald! I toted the kids in a wagon, so as not to lose them in the large crowds. We stopped at a few stands and admired art from local artists. The boys got to work on their gardening skills at one of the stands. The kiddos also noticed all the cute puppies with green bows and ribbons in their hair.
After walking for what seemed like a mile...we made it to the part of the festival that the kids look forward to he most...the rides!
A nice couple that was leaving, actually gave us their tickets! We had enough for both boys to play the “test you strength” game and win two prizes! They also bounced in a bounce house and went down a giant slide!!
After the excitement of the rides came the festival food! We past vendor after vendor with lots of fried delicacies. I would have loved a giant turkey leg on a stick...however, the kids are picky eaters...so we settled for corn dogs, mozzerllea sticks and tater tots!
Finally we hit up the park on the way out!
It was a successful festival trip indeed. It again makes me realize how awesome my hubby is...because after all of the excitement (and child wrangling) I’m exhausted! Lol.
I’ll enjoy my green beer tonight, after the boys go to sleep!
