I have been a long time follower of Louis Rossmann's Odysee channel where he has championed Right to Repair, lobbying legislators to require consumer product manufacturers to provide to purchasers the same information they provide their dealers that are necessary to repair their products. He has continually lamented the practice of such manufacturers to disable their products with software updates after the sale and requiring consumers to pay monthly fees for the right to use the product they purchased outright.
Increasingly, ownership of consumer products is being eliminated, and everything is becoming a service for which people must pay a monthly fee. If you own a Tesla, you have to pay a monthly subscription fee to enable the self driving feature. If you own a BMW you have to pay a monthly fee for the heated seats to work. Worse, cars have become surveillance devices that track the heartbeat, the breath, and gaze of the driver, collecting all manner of private data and selling it to the highest bidder. All our devices are being turned into surveillance trackers and we are being watched and tracked more closely than cattle with tags in their ears ever have.
It's not just cars, but thermostats, baby monitors, refrigerators, and, of course, phones. Every kind of product that we buy to deliver to us the blessings of civilization is being transformed into a subscription service and a surveillance tracker so that we must subscribe to our overlords in order to enjoy civilization - but only as their slaves.
Screw that.
Community gardens are formed by groups that source a suitable plot where members can plant some things they don't have room for in their apartments in the city. In a similar way I propose we form Community Consumer Product Manufacturing Associations to make phones, refrigerators, and cars using off the shelf parts and supplies, and open source software, or even coding up our own using AI, as has become common even for software companies like Microshaft. There have been attempts to do this in the past, but there have been failures as people have failed to take advantage, competitors have crushed them, and fatcats have bribed the principals to defang the competition. Hive demonstrates a way to do that without principals controlling PMA's that can be bribed, enables funding to be paid by them that want in, without requiring anyone that doesn't to pay anything, and enables all discussion to be preserved on the blockchain so that no one can lie or take credit for anything. We can collaborate freely and mutually adopt designs we can contribute to fund manufacturing.
Hive is open source. If the platform itself won't allow this to be done, then I will fork off dedicated platform(s) for the specific purpose of enabling Community Associations to Manufacture consumer Products (CAMP is hereby officially coined and thereby copyrightable). Some of you have far more experience coding, using AI, and if you are interested in this project, can be extremely helpful bringing this initiative to fruition. I'm looking at you . The world needs this now. Pitch in.
Across the world today we see that decentralization is outcompeting centralization. <$50k drones are defeating >$B tanks and fighter aircraft, and recently <$100 manpads have advented enabling little old ladies to make them on their kitchen tables, just like stitching up doilies, and defeat <$50k drones, and this isn't only happening on the battlefield, but in every field of industry today.
It's time to ditch overlords, end their parasitic control of our lives and possessions, and the laws of physics mandate that decentralization of the means of production are today the leading edge of tech advance in every industry. Independence is freedom, and independent means is the best definition of wealth. The closing of the Strait of Hormuz is plunging the world into an economic catastrophe, and most people die in catastrophes. That's why they're catastrophic. However, some people don't die, and they are those that demonstrate the merit to keep their lives. I intend to work with others that merit their lives and wealth by making it ourselves.
If you want to not only survive the coming catastrophic economic collapse, but to thrive while centralized industry is cutting everyone else off from the blessings of civilization, drop me a reply to this post, and we'll see if we can work together to set us free from dependence on Evil, Inc. and make our own wealth they can't pinch from our pockets.
