For decades any research that questioned the Out of Africa theory has been dismissed, and those raising such questions derided and marginalized, despite the theory being contrary to paleontological evidence. New research shows it can no longer suppress more reasonable theories that better match the genealogical, as well as the geological record.
The first find that strongly indicated the impossibility of the Out of Africa theory was Graecopithecus. More than 7mya, hominins were present in Greece and the Balkans, that are more closely related to H. sapiens than African hominins, and the African finds are later, between 7 and 6mya.
Now footprints over 5.5mya show a distinctly hominid foot in the same area, during a time when African hominids still had apelike feet, with opposable toes.
Clearly, it is far more likely that humans originated from the Balkans, given the far more modern physiology of the Graecopithecines than African relatives.
Given the various sociological and propaganda purposes to which the Out of Africa theory has been put, strong flags inured to the theory, as science is all too often proved false when used for such purposes. Few honest scientists taint their research with political propaganda, and those that do, like the Eugenicists of the 20th Century, are often shown to have falsified data in order to support their political views.
If the facts don't fit their narrative, they lie about the facts.
These facts however, have been written in stone, and mere words can't change the story.
