I think that's a pretty reasonable assessment. Someone mentioned that evil plots only succeed because we go along with them, and I am seeing so many ways that is true in my experience. We can only have a high trust society if it is comprised of trustworthy people, and as we watch the West degrade ever further, it is because the people of the West are less and less worthy of trust, and more and more compromised by extortion or bribery. When we go along with a mask mandate to avoid arrest, that's a form of extortion, and when we accept EBT/welfare, that's a form of bribery, and fewer of us resist either.

When the SHTF, a lot of people are going to see the light, and a lot will find their way into graves. Maybe after such a catastrophe we'll be trustworthy again.
