I had a dream...
Last night. Or was it this morning?
I decided to write the dream - or actually two dreams - down, as they stuck with me. And also, because - another member of the 'be awesome' discord channel - recently mentioned that he is keeping a dream journal. Here's an excerpt from his post:
Dream Journaling
Some experiment I've been doing is writing down my dreams.
I've been doing this continuously for 9 days now.
The last time I tried it, I was able to control my dreams (a.k.a lucid dream) just after 4 days.
Feel free to read his full post, where he talks about his achievements, challenges and habits, here
I tried some dream journaling myself in the past. One of my favorite filmmakers ever, David Lynch, gets all of his inspiration out of dreams and meditation and I'm sure he's not the only one.
I myself do not necessarily lack any inspiration lately but I thought it might be fun to start sharing (some of) my dreams with you. Who knows what it will lead to? It might inspire you, make you laugh, motivate you to do the same and, besides that, I wonder what the practice leads to on my side. Will I be able to remember my dreams every single day? Will I be able to influence my dreams and start so called lucid dreaming? Time will tell.
So, without further ado, I present to you, my wildest dream(s) of last night:
Me and another (unidentifiable) person are sitting in a boat, moving through a wet, Dutch, landscape. During our little travel we see many animals on the land. My eyes spot a wolf, then a couple more wolves, 6,7,8,8 10, a dozen wolves. More and more wolves appear, my guestimate is that there are about 60 of them altogether. They are at a safe distance - and - more importantly, not planning to harm us.
I also spot a cheetah, which is a little more special in The Netherlands. And - a little later - a baboon. Now this is a problem. The baboon appears to be dangerous and aggressive. At this point in the dream, our boat is gone and we are walking. The baboon is way faster than us - even though he is kind of hopping on two arms - and getting closer and closer. I decide to grab a stick to defend us. It's not much of a stick...
THE END
That was my wildest dream of last night.
In the following dream, I am sitting in a cave, watching a movie (projected on the wall). My father enters and is looking way better than he did before. He wants to watch a movie (which hardly ever happens or happened in the past). I ask him if he wants to sit on a couch. Suddenly there's a couch. Until that moment, there was only a floor and a sleeping bag. It's a comfortable couch and I start prepping it for him.
Then somebody unplugs the TV and the Christmas lights. Were there Christmas light? Was there a TV? The woman who did this, says we were watching Channel 3. But, after plugging the cable in again, we can't find the right channel or movie. It clearly wasn't Channel 3.
THE END
That is as much as I remember from last night/ this morning.
