The final lesson of the book was a good one, even though it is one which is not easy to implement.
It explains how different skills are necessary in life to be successful. SOme skills are easily transferable between jobs and occupations, and some are very hard to transfer.
Piloting skills are near useless out of the airline or military world. Accounting skills are usefull in any business context.
So the author describes how during the first years of his career, he was jumping from job to job. but always with a goal. He worked in the Merchant Marine towards Asia to get to know Asian business culture. How he worked in construction He went to the army to learn leadership, and worked for a company with a good salesman training, in order to learn how to be a salesman.
This last skill is said to be enormously important. The skill to sell. Either your product, or yourself. Learn to sell, and do not be afraid to be rejected or to fail to reach a sale.
I understand this chapter and it's importance, but, as the book predicts, leaving my well paying job in order to take up another one which might teach me something, comes off as very scary, and I do not think I will be implementing this...
So, the 6 lessons are passed. The next chapter is called "the beginning" WIll get to that on Sunday since tomorrow, I will really not have the time.
