Leaving Sydney's Kingsford-Smith (SYD) airport is a great experience! My trip this morning was made so much better by a take off to the north over Sydney CBD from runway 34RIGHT, often known as the third runway (the last one to be built).
Virgin Australia leaves from Terminal Two (T2) which services domestic flights and is next to the now long gone sight of the original aerodrome's facilities It's just a shame that the terminal is aging and in need of a rebuild to compete with it's international peers.
The taxi run out to the end of 34R is a long one. The runway is used almost exclusivly by domesic flights (as international ones would have to cross the main runway to get to Terminal One).
And after a easy going hour we arrive into Brisbane!
