Hey everyone,
As previously mentioned my name is William I am a college student at The King's College in New York. I was born in asheville and raised in Raleigh North Carolina and decided that I wanted to study finance so I moved to New York the financial capitol of the United States. My father has been at IBM for 26 years now and has been a fantastic mentor to me, so when he suggested I look into Bitcoin I went ahead and went to a meetup here in the city, I haven't looked back since.
Not long after I entered the industry I met my girlfriend of two years who I hope to marry if we ever get the money to do so. She is an incredible person and has battled my dyslexia with me throughout our college experience. Gabrielle is currently double majoring in a liberal arts degree and business administration. She is currently working with one of her professors Chris Craigin-Day on an off Broadway show called "The Unusual Tale of Mary and Josephs Baby" at the New York City fringe Festival. Im going to be honest I don't really know what that means but it's supposed to be good.
I am currently working on my own startup after coming out of a not so great startup experience I am trying to take my sweet time before we launch so that this organization does not make the same mistakes as the last one I worked for did. I hope our project will help close the gap between the current financial sector and what I see to bee the next evolution of it in the blockchain comunity. At the very least I hope that we can help the public trust blockchain and bitcoin more so that we can begin helping them understand that bitcoin is not a scam or ponzi scheme, it is in fact an actual currency and more of the likes we have never before seen.
I have enjoyed going to blockchain conferences such as Cryptolina and Consynsus 2015 and my favorite of them all was the blockchain workshops hosted by KOALA at NYU this past spring. Everywhere I look people are trying to piece together the things that divide our communities across the cryptocurrency sector and I believe Steemit is a fantastic Idea and a step in the right direction. I look forward to blogging more about my life as a college student here in the city as I explore blockchain even more with this community!
P.S. Sorry if this wasn't top notch but My girlfriend did not edit it.
