Left-handed drivers get into traffic accidents one and a half times more often than right-handers. Scientists found this out during a study conducted by the insurance company Privilege.
According to x data, 28% of left-handed drivers receive fines for speeding, and among right-handed people only 19%. 26% of left-handers (and 23% of right-handers) get parking fines. In addition, left-handers on average for 60 years spent behind the wheel, fall into nine serious accidents, and right-handers - in eight.
However, scientists have found that left-handers have a higher chance of passing the exam for rights from the first time. They also rarely get into small accidents, accompanied only by dents and scratches on the car.
According to psychologists, the most likely reason is that cars, road signs and other items with which drivers interact, are designed based on the characteristics of right-handers. In such conditions, left-handed people find it harder to adapt to driving.
