Scott was told to walk four different times a day for five minutes each until he was able to walk a mile.
Today he accomplished that goal so we are going to start doing two one mile walks everyday until he can walk the full loop that is our country road.
The sun was up high enough to make it plenty warm, but we were able to enjoy the gravel road without traffic stirring up the chalky dust.
We love the area we live. It is quiet with plenty of shade for us to walk under in the summer heat.
Oklahoma is usually pretty hot in the month of August with high temperatures in the upper 90s and often in three digits. However, we have been lucky so far and 100 degree temps have been rare.
The main issue we have about living in the country is the attitudes about dogs. Most people allow their dogs to roam freely. This causes issues for those on foot. Fortunately, these two adorable Great Pyrenees farm dogs have come to know us rather well. They just wanted to visit with us while we took a short break before turning around towards home.
We walked a total of 1.25 miles this morning and it sure felt good. A song kept going through my head as we walked. Let me share it with you.
