Alright, so now to the discovery that started this epic rant. LOL
Total Energy Expenditure Calculator
A friend on Wastebook shared a picture of a post by a fitness expert, Here you go.
The gist of the post is that many "diet-experts" say that to lose weight, you should limit yourself to 1200 calories a day. That is Bad Medicine, and Bon Jovi was nowhere in sight.
Here are some screenies from me playing with this calculator.
My regular activity at 300lbs required 3463 calories a day, just to wander around for 30 minutes on break.
At 200lbs, my current goal weight, the same exact day would require 2601 calories.
And now the shocker:
At 200lbs, my current daily activity of walking 5+ miles, and spending 45 minutes on the weights, only requires: 3809 calories. That's only one small candybar more than minimal activity at 300lbs. Or 5 hardboiled eggs (cheaper, better, hint hint.)
Keep in mind, that the mean average of the US population eats about 3300 calories per day.
So like I said. Fat folks eat so much because they -have- to. Their body will adapt it's hunger to maintain homeostasis regardless of mass. And it will be absolutely miserable the entire time. It's been said that if a morbidly obese person got to spend 1 week in a healthy body, they would do whatever it takes to rebuild themselves. I can firmly attest to the truth of this.
Thanks to the Thankful,
