Question: What can you never buy, borrow, have more of, or save till later?
Answer: Time.
It is your time so know its value
It doesn’t matter what type of job you do, we all sell our time for some sort of price. It is easier to see this, when you receive a weekly wage or monthly salary. You must therefore, know the value of your time, since this will decide your quality of life. The income you receive from your time will influence your nonworking hours, and the amount of time you have to spend doing the things you really want to do. This value you put on your time will also have an impact on your health, since if you place a low value on your time, you will end up with a low income, which could lead to stress, depression and other health problems. As I said before, there are many ways to make money, but no way of making more time, so you must know and start valuing your time now. If you are an employee, you may believe that if you work more hours doing overtime, you will automatically gain more money, but this is not true, since you could spend that time investing in more profitable actions. However, one simple fact remains. You can’t just raise your income at will and take part in more profitable actions, if you work for someone else. So what is the solution? If you work for someone else, and the money that you receive as a pay check, does not allow you to live the lifestyle that you want. I say to you, find a better alternative. Only you can decide the value of your time, and so should not work for anything less. So the best solution is to change how you use your time and get the best return on your investment, may this be by starting your own business or by finding a company that values you more.Spend time on your own business
If you decide to spend your time setting up your own company, which I totally recommend, you must remember this. Everyone gets the same amount of time, but what we all don’t get or have, is the same amount of the following: • Ambition• Intelligence
• Energy
• Passion
• Money
• Attitude All of the above assets will have in some way or another, a say in how you should use your time. It is therefore important for you to know yourself in areas such as strengths, weaknesses, motivations, goals and so on. If you know what these are, then you can set up a business around them, since they will bring you the most rewards on the efforts you put into any task. However, if you set up your own business in an attempt to just provide yourself with more leisure time from the start, you will fail. When people become their own bosses they tend to make this mistake. When you set up your own business, you must understand that what you do with your time is very important. If you invest with great consideration in regard to your business goals, you will plan and execute your objectives with greater ease.
Match the time you invest to the success you receive
Have you heard of the 80/20 rule? Well, in layman terms what this means can be summed up like this. Only 20 percent of the things you spend your time doing, actually accounts for the 80 percent of the things you achieve. This is not limited to your work and business, but to everything else that you devote your time to. This includes your relationships, home life and so on.The aim of using the 80/20 rule is that of maximising your productivity by identifying the key 20 percent activities, which are most beneficial to your success.
So for example; if you decided to blog on Steemit with different types of articles, and then discover that a certain type of article from the group was creating the most attention. You would from that point concentrate your efforts on making more articles of that type. You can implement the 80/20 rule into your daily life by doing some of the following:
1. Start by observing the ways in which you use your current time
This will help you to identify any bad behaviours and habits that are stopping you from spending your time wisely.
2. Begin to assess your personal productivity trends Try to pinpoint the periods of the day where your energy is at its highest, so to discover when you are most productive. 3. Try to discover the roots of any interruptions, throughout the day This will help you to eliminate the problems that are stopping you from getting the most work done. So there you go. I hope that this post has laid the grounds for you to value your time more than you did before.
