I have often heard people talking about being "emotionally crushed to the ground", having "lost all hope" and not being able to think straight anymore. I have been through this phase not once, but several times. It could be caused by plenty of factors, but what counts now is how to get out of it and go back to the top, cause, to be honest, there is only one way to go, and that is up.
We tend to think irrationally when we're emotionally under pressure and unstable, and this might lead to hurting yourself, mentally at the very least. We certainly do not want this to happen, so we have to start thinking with our brains even though it could be tough, as we usually stick to the heart. After falling, you don't want to stay on the ground, this is the biggest mistake. Staying still, not doing anything, does nothing to improve your situation, so you have to get up. You have to thrive and fight back.
Success in life rarely comes by its own. It comes after trials and failures. Fall as many times as necessary but rise up at each time. Failure is not shameful. What is shameful is not doing anything to progress, not learning from your own mistakes and standing still. What is shameful is falling and not trying to get back up. Losing hope is a normal reaction but you have to motivate yourself and think about the future. Do you really want to stand in the same place in a month or a year? No one really does. So wake up and fight what is restraining you from getting up.
A person is guided by his or her will. Nurture this will, give yourself a new purpose and strive to fulfill it. Everything that happened is already in the past and cannot be altered. The future is what matters, and you are the only one to decide it. You are the only master of your actions, do not let anyone or anything bring you down.
Hitting rockbottom isn't an easy thing to handle, I know that, as I have experienced it. But climbing the ladder up to the surface is nonetheless the most satisfying thing I have done till now. I felt reborn, and, most importantly, happy. As far as I'm concerned, happiness is the #1 goal in life, so thrive to attain it. Never give up. The reward is far greater than you imagine.
