The question to ask yourself is "Why do I exist?"
We see people are born and they die after spending a few years on this earth. What is this all going on? Think about yourself. Did you create yourself or someone else created you? If you created yourself then do whatever you want to and you should also have then the power to avoid death.
The reality is that the best of creators created you in the amazing form with a drop of fluid(semen). He gave you the beautiful face that you see every day in the mirror. Your eyes that have the ability to see are an amazing wonder of your Creator.
Just imagine how beautifully he placed the eye with lens and receptors in it and with all the complex electrical connections between it and the brain. Because when light entering the eye passes through lenses and reaches the rods and cons that are a million in numbers that convert it into electrical signals, which the brain interprets and in this way you are able to see.
You should imagine your life without them. Even if you own the whole earth and whatever it contains, a life without eyes would be nothing but a suffering. He is Allah who blessed you with these. Yet you are never thankful. You think that this is your right and take it for granted without realizing that there are people whose money and time are being spent in eye hospitals owing to different eye-related diseases.
How merciful is Allah!. Simply, reflecting on the eye which is 1% of our whole body makes us thankful to our Creator. The remaining body parts, the systems such as respiration, reproduction, digestion, circulation open a new world of reflection about the greatness of Allah. The importance of reflection can be understood from the fact that there are almost more than 700 ayaat in the Noble Qur’an that discuss natural phenomena, the creation of Almighty Allah. It is astonishing how come a person forgets his Creator and Sustainer. How does he forget that Allah, his God, is nearer to him than his jugular vein? Allah is with him wherever he is, thereby watching each and everything that the person is doing. In Surah Al Alaq(96), Allah Ta’ala described the wrongdoings of Abu Jahl and said: “Does he not know that Allah is watching?” How can he dare do all that what he did while Allah is watching him? This is the thought that makes a slave of Allah reach the level of Ehsaan, about which Muhammad S.A.W.W. said it is to worship Allah as if you are seeing Him, and if you cannot develop this state, then be mindful that Allah is watching you.
Unfortunately, there are some people on the face of this earth who do not even believe in the existence of the God, who is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. Probably they have dead hearts which cannot recognize their Creator in spite of the numerous signs spread everywhere. In Surah Al Baqarah(2), Allah says in Ayat 28, "How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned." This is the situation of disbelievers. If you find a pen somewhere fallen on the road, you cannot even doubt that it is created without any creator. How can you close your hearts and mind when you see the creation of Allah.
Yet, It is astounding to see that even majority of those people who believe in Allah they are also not mindful of the characteristics of Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala. They forget that their Creator is Al-Baseer.
