Whilst drinking my taco Tuesday margarita (secret recipe, won't post that here) I got a brainfreeze.
Sometimes my brain shuts down in moments such as these, but this time I had clarity (could be the booze, who knows). I remembered quite clearly that brain freezes occur when the nerves on your hard palate are distressed by super cold temps. Some folks, like my wife, have an exceptionally thick hard palate and don't get brain freezes.
I am not so blessed...
So, how does one quickly relieve such things?
Stop drinking margaritas....
Bwahahahaha!!! Never!
Keep imbibing, but when you feel that burn coming on lick the roof of your mouth. That distracts the nerves and stops the painful impulse from going to your brain.
Source? I don't know, the internet somewheres, all I know is that it works!
