Taking ownership of a broad tag like 'lifestyle' is a money grab tactic. For example, no one accidentally tags 'steemleo' or 'palnet' or 'neoxian'.
Clearly, a tribe about #lifestyle fills a deep desire here on Steem.
'lifestyle' is already one of the top 10 tags on steem and hardly a creative term that fills a void like you said.
I've already seen a ton of abuse, for example how is writing about the 'lifestyle' token lifestyle? You've basically stolen what was a normal tag before you came along.
I think you just thought of the most popular tag you could get away with making a tribe for. A lot of people are going to be receiving your tokens and taging your tribe without knowledge or consent. This is deceptive.
Even if you change it to 'onelife' it would be better, because few people accidentally tags that.
Actually, I'm disappointed with Steem-Engine as well for allowing someone to claim an extremely popular tag, what are they going to sell next?
You also won't say who you are. In other words, we think you are doing this as a cash grab because you are selling your token before establishing yourself. Plenty of people started very successful communities on Steem long before selling tokens (and worse miners). Trust and respect is earned not just given.
We're 2 college students in the U.S. and for obvious reasons, we wanted to keep our real names off this project.
You have already admitted you are in America and admitted that you know you are violating US regulations. If you cannot follow the laws of your country, why should we trust you?
The only real way to show that we aren't just raising STEEM to eventually dump it and leave is by powering up the STEEM earned from LIFESTYLE and LM sales. Apart from that, we don't really know how else to show you that we're here to stay. Actions speak louder than words.
Actions do speak louder than words, so tell us who you are so we can judge for ourselves whether we should trust you or not. You are already taking people's money and offering practically nothing in return. Besides even if one.life doesn't exit scam, we have no idea what your real accounts are up to.
Powering down only takes 13 weeks which isn't that long. Besides you can borrow the money almost instantly or dump tokens with other accounts to drop the price. What are your plans to do with the Steem if this tribe fails and the token drops to 1% of the price you are selling it for? Do you have any whitepaper for example? You have only mentioned that you want a steemspeak tribe and a discord, that takes 1000 steem and about an hour to set up each. I know people who have done more in an afternoon to be honest.
Someone who's making 100 LIFESTYLE a day by posting blurry pictures of the sky with no text obviously can't continue to rape the rewards pool with no consequences.
Your use of obscene language in your 'clearing it up' post hardly sets a good precedent for what kind of community you are creating. I understand there are mostly adults on Steem. However, is it so hard to use the phrase 'take advantage of' instead? It would set a better tone for what you are trying to accomplish and give people who are critical of you fewer reasons to be critical of you.
I hope you take my criticism seriously. I've spoken with a few people about tribes and even lifestyle and most people are not happy other than the moonboy FOMO type people who promote the crap out of anything with no shame in hopes of making a Steemie or two and generally love dancing for dollars. Please try to earn our trust and respect and don't beg for it, grovel, or demand it.
Maybe I should make a tribe called 'blog' or 'writing' or 'money' and then claim ownership.
