In my quest to improve my fitnees and hopefully look more trim, I've been playing football regularly. I figured it would be nice to have fun, and shed some of the weight at the same time, so I just enjoy some casual games with some of the people in my area.
yesterday, I got a little but too into it, and ended up hurting my knee through an injury. I found myself in the midst of two opponents, and in normal situation, I'd have just let it go but this time, I wanted to put my running to test, so I charged through both of them and got the ball. Unfortunately, I lost my footing and ended up falling on the rocky ground and because of my momentum, I slid like 50cm across the ground filled with tiny pebbles and shit.

I also got a cut some injuries in my right hand as well, because I used it to break the fall but the real pain is from my bones aching.
When I was a kid, I could have two or three of these kinds of injuries and still soldier on but not now. I couldn't continue playing after the impact because my joints were aching, so I went home, rinsed the surface of the injury with water. After I took a bath, I disinfected the surface with a methylated spirit and that stung like a bitch.
In a weird and mildly psychotic way, I feel really good because it has been quite some time I felt this rush of adrenaline and energy. Life has been really boring lately, so this event just gave me something "fun" to think about. I'll be taking a short break from Football to allow me knee heal, so my exercise will mostly be fast walks and my usual home exercises.
