Looks like life is changing and these changes sometimes are good. You all know how much of a problem plastic waste is, I don't have to go over that.
Some companies are working on using plastic waste for making good things. One of these companies is Waste2Wear that is using blockchain to turn ocean plastic waste into eco-fabrics.
Traceable by blockchain technology
Our whole value chain, from collecting plastic waste to the end-product, is fully transparent and traceable. With our collection Ocean Fabrics we will start implementing blockchain technology (beta version will be launched in September). All of our products are certified at every step. We add this extra layer of trust because we’re committed to sustainability and the development of true circularity - and so are our our clients. source
I find it very interesting to see what they can do with a few plastic bottles. This should happen more often, other factories should implement the technology and use waste plastic to create different products.
Waste2Wear is producing different fabrics, sportswear, fashion, school uniforms, workwear, bags etc.
I've seen a similar project in Italy. The company was producing fashion bags using plastic bottles. You went to their shop, chose a bag and they told you how many bottles were used to create the bag. You could bring those bottles to the shop yourself.
No more need for disposable shopping bags with Waste2Wear® Bags
The Waste2Wear® recycled shopping bags are made from recycled plastic bottles 100% or mixed with recycled cotton. From the moment they are produced they are making a positive impact on the environment keeping up to 6 bottles out of our landfills and oceans. source

I'm collecting these news and looks like there's something each day to write about. Yesterday I was posing about a nuclear power plant that had never gone into production as those responsible of running it realized it would be a huge risk after the Chernobyl disaster. The plant was sold and made an amusement park. Today I'm posting about fashion items and wearable made of plastic. Let's hope tomorrow I'll come across another cool project that helps save something.
