This is a Consolidated Resume of all my posts regarding the Linkedin Profile Headline Problem previously mentioned in the articles at the end of this post:
The LinkedIn Profile Headline forces people to present themselves in just 120 characters. Hence Job Seekers must really think deeply about who they are, what they are searching for and how they are going to convey their definition to the markets. The reason for the Headline being so critical is that it is the only piece of information everyone sees without even being connected to your Network, and also Google searchable.
A Proper LinkedIn Profile Headline gives precise definition of What you are and What you are searching for. Makes your Profile relevant and interesting to your market audience, and generate strong Keywords which in turn translate into a much greater search engine indexability and hence visibility to the market audiences.
The LinkedIn Profile Headline is the text right below your Name Last Name, where you will defined yourself in terms of the following parameters/criteria:
- Current Marketable Position or the Position you are searching for.
- The Experience you are Selling to the Market.
- Functions and Sub functions of expertise & Industries from which you are deriving such knowledge.
The Linkedin Profile Headline concept is very close to the problem of describing yourself in not more than 10 words, that some Recruiters & Headhunters tend to ask in selection interviews.
