WE SPENT A WEEK AT KRUGER LODGE JUST OUTSIDE THE KRUGER PARK.
THESE ARE ALL THE PHOTOS I TOOK ON OUR DAILY TRIPS INTO THE KRUGER PARK.
THIS WAS DAY FOUR.......... Our Last day trip into the Kurger Park, before returning home.
Kori Bustard This bird was just around the corner from the gate.
We had hardly driven more than 5km and we came across this herd of buffalo.
and they just came
and came
and came
We thought they would never stop. It reminded me of a river flowing.
At last they all had crossed the road but what a sight to see.
A km further down the road we came across this stork.
A Saddlebilled Stork...................I think this is one of the easiest bird to recognize.
Just past the stork we found this ..........Tawny Eagle on the ground eating his breakfast.
A couple of giraffe browsing on the thorn trees.
This little shy Steenbokkie remained where it was while I took this photo.
After the Steenbokkie we rode for km without an animal or bird to photograph, we had almost decided to turn for home but we then the road took a turn and there in front of us was this herd of Elephant having a bath in a dam. They were having a ball in the water . They were really playing ,pushing each other under water, just like children would do.
We enjoyed watching them play.
They were even blowing bubbles under water.
And then they all got out of the water and left.
We pulled over next to this dam in the shade of the tree to have a snack.
We sat watching just how awkward it is for a giraffe to be able to have a drink of water.
Really a slow process.
A Flock of Carmine Bee-eaters, to see them in flight is spectacular.
After the bee-eaters we decided to turn for home via a short cut shown on our map and after about ten km we came across these lions, this really made our day.
A good looking male.
Twos lazy females, most likely with full stomachs
Awake at last.
THIS WAS MY LAST PHOTOGRAPH ON DAY FOUR
I hope you enjoyed our trip as much as we did.
ALL PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY PROPERTY.
