It has been a while since I posted anything on Steemit, mostly out of laziness, but also because I was working on some other things.
One of them being Lisbon State of Mind, a platform for local freelancers living in Lisbon.
In a nutshell, Lisbon State of Mind is a platform for people living in Lisbon where to find and share skills - free of charge. The goal of our Lisbon State of Mind project is to create a local network for the city of Lisbon.
Originally, we wanted to build a local currency comparable with the Brixton Pound. But in the end we realised this would be way too complicated, so we chose to create a platform which allows for people to trade locally.
Below you can find a summary of the features offered by Lisbon State of Mind. But first, let's have a look at our promotional video:
Any user of the platform has the possibility to share up to 5 different skills with the rest of the Lisbon State of Mind community. Every user can choose 5 different skills, as people may have distinct types of talents not related to each other. For example, one could be a great developer, but is also a fine guitar player and an excellent cook. These skills can therefore be advertised separately on our platform.
If you think you don't really have any skills to share, what about learning a new skill? You can check the School section on our website and see if there is anything you want to learn or get better at. Maybe you want to know a new language? Or you want to master a particular software? It's really up to you!
Or perhaps you need a specific job done? For example, you want to hire a marketer for your small business or you need to have your bike repaired, you name it. Then you might want to have a look at our Office or Atelier sections in the menu on top. New members are joining the community every week and the pool of skills is growing.
If you find someone offering a skill you like, you can start the conversation by using our internal messaging system. Simply click on "Contact this Skill" at the bottom of every skill page to get in touch with the person offering this skill. Don't worry about missing a reply, every time you receive a message, you will get a notification by email.
If you are happy with the results delivered by the contacted skill, it would be fantastic to give it an upvote by clicking on the heart icon next to it. We are sure they will appreciate this, as it will help them to gain more visibility. Your upvotes decide which skills show on top of the list for every category.
This platform does not just want to be a job board. We want to be a place where people can gather and work together to achieve their goals. Lisbon State of Mind is a community where every member makes a difference.
