Yay! My last day and complete!
Day 7
I am not naturally a patient person. The little things tend to get to me. Having patience and being calm takes a lot of conscious work on my part. This is something I have to work on often.
How did it go?
My kids woke up earlier than usual this morning. Needless to say, I was really wanting another hour of sleep. I did not start off the day in a great mood, and actually thought I should save this last item for tomorrow, since I figured the day would not get any better. A friend of mine asked if the kids and I wanted to get together for a play date, so we had that to go to. Being tired, I was in no mood to go, but I knew the kids would really enjoy it, so I sucked it up. Funny enough, it was just what I needed. There was another mom that joined in, and she has a very calm and patient attitude. She is a mom of four and I have no idea how she does it! It’s amazing what surrounding yourself with positive influences can do to you. I tried to do what she was doing (because, well, I didn’t want to be the “bad” mom of the bunch) and I brought that attitude home after we left. What a difference! Sure my kiddos weren’t perfect angels, but they respond a lot better when mommy has herself in check. Mommy felt a lot better as well. Here, I thought the whole day was ruined the moment I woke up, but in the end, it was a lot better than expected. Now the goal is to keep it up!
All done!
Well, I have to say, I am glad to be done with my list! I learned a lot, and I hope it sticks with me so I can keep at it. Thanks for reading!
