I was reminded yesterday of "The Gate of the Gods", a strange and interesting story which I stumbled upon a decade or more ago. Since I stumbled upon it, I have learned and forgotten many things and for a couple years, I couldn't remember enough to find this gateway to the stars. Something that a friend shared on social media yesterday got the neurons firing and I was able to remember that it was in Peru. Now that I've tracked it down and read up on this doorway to the stars, my desire is once again renewed to travel to places like this that have some pretty great potential historic significance.
I don't think that this is the same story as I'd read originally read, because I remember some differences, unless I'm just remembering in wrong. The first time I stumbled across the story, it went something like this:
One fine evening atop a mountain in Peru, a group of spiritual people were there observing their existence through meditation. What was their religion? I don't exactly remember, but that's gladly not the point. As the evening progressed, one individual stood up amongst the others and began to walk toward the "doorway" etched into the stone in the mountain side. Out of their robe, they took an object, which the depressed into the cylindrical slot aside the doorway. A blue light shone bright into the night as the individual walked into the doorway, where they disappeared, never to be seen from again, along with the object they'd placed in the slot.
When I first read this, there was a great amount of scrutiny around the existence of extraterrestrial existence, UFO's and the like. In the recent years and, this year especially, I have noticed a more relaxed attitude toward the possibility of extra terrestrial life. In seeing that, I'm intrigued to see how much we may learn about the ancient civilizations and potentially, their origins or outside influences from other planets.
We are now living in a time where we have more access to technology and information than at any time in recorded history. The human civilization is really only learning to walk in terms of science and how we integrate with technology. With all of the good that comes along with the technological growth that we've experienced, there are many questions that we're facing, morally and psychologically. Although we've breached our way into space, split the atom and collided particles, we're still pretty much toddlers firing rockets into the sky and hoping they don't blow up. To consider, that during The Manhattan Project, we were just learning about the consequences of Ion Propulsion systems on human tissue and the environment, I have to wonder if we've even begun to understand the physics that govern the physical world, let alone, what many consider the metaphysical world.
As we move forward toward greater understanding, growth and development as a species, I hope that the comfort that has come from the advancements of technology will not cripple us in our pursuit of greater understanding and the pursuit of the ancient wisdom. That wisdom, no doubt, holds greater value than we can currently comprehend, otherwise we'd be more seriously pursuing knowledge from the past of our planet and the societies which we've come after.
I'll link the web site if you would like to check it out for yourself. I, for one, plan to go there one day to see it with my own eyes and document it so that others can see it.
