I had to write a post about this, lol.
So earlier today there was this post asking some questions about Steemit's stake and Tron which I didn't really bother answering because since they were on trending I figured he might take a look at the other posts there and figure out how much Steem Stake was sold to Tron which is mentioned in many of them. The point being that the post was just 5 questions in english and korean and was trending with $46 in rewards without burning any post rewards so I figured that's not something that deserved the rewards and gave it a downvote because disagreement on rewards and all that.
Anyway, he decides to logon to his 230k account and do the following:
and then this on another account with 440k SP:
and then leaves a comment similar to my initial one that said: "???" :)
Way to flex your SP, amirite guys? Retaliating over 14x my downvote power without even checking what my posts were about or if I was farming rewards the way he is with the self-votes.
If you're wondering, no, I'm not going to retaliate because I'm not a dickhead. Funny though how quick you find yourself in someone's crosshairs for disagreeing with the rewards on a post you find on trending and decide to downvote it. Maybe I could've explained my downvote better but was before I had my coffee ;D. Anyway, this is going to be interesting now that he's following me so let's see what happens in this post.
It's pretty annoying cause this has been happening quite a lot since the EIP. For the longest time I wasn't self-voting at all because with the 50/50 change it felt much better to curate instead when everyone was worried about losing post rewards I wanted to show that with the EIP the post rewards will go up eventually with having more and more accounts curating instead of farming votes or selling them. That ended up meaning my posts were being zero'd out for weeks at one point though so it felt shitty that my supporters and curators were getting no returns for their curation which now was also 50% so I started doing some self-voting again. I also feel bad using other accounts to counter these obvious retalations even though I've done so for other users but since this is me and I'm in control of the other accounts I can counter with it means people are instantly going to point fingers and call me a farmer or something. Heh, can't win either way I guess.
What are your thoughts on this, was I the one being unreasonable or is this person just really weird with downvotes, especially ironic here since the Korean community have been against using them but apparently when they do they do it as if there's no tomorrow.
