In many cases, hearing voices in your head can be associated with mental disorders or madness, but in the case of this man from Maryland, it made him won the lottery. Yeah, as crazy as it may sound.
A man won $100,000,000 in the lottery thanks to a “voice” in his head that he said prompted him to buy an instant ticket as he was about to leave a store where he was chatting with a friend.
According to local media, Nolan Steele, a resident of the town of Sykesville, Maryland, acquired the ticket, scratched it, and put it in a machine, which instructed him to visit the State Lottery offices to collect his prize.
“I don’t know where it came from,” Steele said of the voice, “but I’m sure I’m glad I heard it,” concluded the 78-year-old lucky man.
The player selected a $10 Willy Wonka gold ticket from the store’s lottery vending machine and scratched the ticket.
The winner said he plans to use part of his prize to paint his house and will put his wife of 43 years in charge of spending the rest.
“I knew there was something weird when the machine told me to visit the offices. Usually, they only ask you to go to the offices when you’ve hit something big,” added the lucky winner.
He stated that he usually played the lottery or slot machines, but he had never won more than a couple of dollars. He said to the local news outlet that while he is happy to have won it is not something that really changes his life. He will continue in your common routine as usual.
However, it is without a doubt an improvement in his life although he assures it is something that will not define him for the rest of his life.
