Eyes That Look Away But Never Fade
Blur of angst, trees that reach
Hands separated fingers unentangled that
Breach boundaries vague ethereal foundries
Where love and laughter and lust and
Pain were manufactured
Towards
Fractured illusive lights I run I sprint
I fly out of practicality the danger the greed
The deep-seated need for the unattainable: that which is
Unexplainable is craved for by the gut-craze
That captured me or was it she
That drove me here to
Languish in the joy &
Terror of a never
Ending night?
The stars-
O God the stars-
The stars that stare
That swell that overflow
The banks that eat the rock
That erode the path that I walk
Away, always further, away beyond the
Grasp that fades insidiously fast
Invisible, it never existed
Because the memories
That never were
Were scars or
Blisters in
Time that
Blurred.
Yet still
We danced- how we danced!
We loved- how did we love!
We dreamed we felt we merged
Above hovering in that ethereal
Place of the heart where nothing
Touches but everything is.
The place was gentle but held joy so deep
Beyond what I knew it couldn't be a dream
I was overrun, wrung out a rag &
Stabbed by joy that found purchase in the
Slag of my molten soul, that allowed the hot tears
To freely roll at the magnificence of it all.
The foreverness that I felt, the beauty
Pure and raw of togetherness without
Any end, this is eternity, in eyes
That look away but never fade.
