Today I continue on the topic of sex in your marriage.
Sex is one the biggest reasons that men give for divorce. We all know that the divorce rate today is very high. Divorce is nasty and most of the times the children are the biggest victims. I know every parent love their children dearly. To ensure a happy and fulfilling life for yourself, your spouse and your children, it is worth it, to work on your love-life and sex-life.
What is the reason that sex cause so many differences and unhappiness in marriages? One definite reason is the way sex is portraited on television and in movies. These mediums portray the arousal of woman and men as the same which is the biggest misconception. This leads to confusion and feelings of inadequacy. Men and woman start to doubt their abilities if sex doesn't happen like in the movies. Men and woman's bodies and emotions are totally different. Not having a proper understanding of this differences and what your spouse's needs are, is in my humble opinion, the main reason for most of the sexual problems in a marriage.
Men and women differ so much in the way that they are sexually aroused. I think most of us know that men are aroused spontaneously. Feelings of arousal and the desire for sex usually come before any sexual activity.
Women need a lot more to come in the mood for sex. You may have heard the expression that men work like a microwave and women like a slow cooker. For her just to feel like having sex she needs most of the time non-sexual physical touch, like holding hands, hugging and kissing. She needs words of affirmation of your love, of your desire for her. She also needs you to demonstrate that love to her during the day. All this only pave the way for her to become aroused.
