Hello and welcome to my blog today.
An intimate relationship involves 2 individuals who are attracted to each other beyond words. Love is the only thing that keeps a couple together forever. There are 3 other things that also fuels the engine of a relationship and they are:
1. Understanding.
Going into a relationship means totally accepting your partner. It is not enough to just be inlove with that person. It takes a whole lot if tolerance and understanding to learn about your spouse. You can't be with someone you cannot tolerate because you will always get angry when he/she does something you find irritating. Understanding your partner is more like the solid rock that forms any relationship. With all humility, i remember an Ex date of mine once told my friend's boyfriend that one thing he admires more about me is how much i understand him. You should be able to differentiate when your partner is in the mood and when you need to talk to them, what they likes and dislikes and try working accordingly to them. Knowing your partner more will help you understand their perspective about things/life, their beliefs and tradition.
2. Communication.
How often do you guys talk? Do you guys prefer inviting a third party to the table in your rough days? Do you invite your parents when you're having an issue in your home? You should learn to talk things out and settle disagreements wirh each other without invitinf a third party. I remember my neighbour telling me he and his girlfriend are having trust issues towards each other, i was like wow. Then i asked him, do you guys communicate? He saod we're both mad at each other, how do we communicate. And i told him that's the problem. When your relationship lacks communication then you won't know what goes on in the head or mind of your partner. One person certainly has coe up with the best way to communicate to keep that relationship in check to dot the i's and cross the t's. Communication frees your mind and make you so outspoken. If you don't tell me where i'm going wrong, how do i change towards you. Communication is one key that shouldn't be underestimated in any relationship.
3. Trust.
Trust is another important aspect in a relationship that makes a relationship strong. If you're having trust issues with your partner, then you will value the words of an outsider more than that of your own partner and that will eventually and gradually lead to the breakup of your relationship.
In all of these, Understanding is one thing that keeps a relationship and not Love. Most couple who end up being divorced today lack the proper understanding for each other and that is why despite their undying love for each other, it is always the smallest issues that doesn't call for alarm that ends up tearing them apart forever. If you underatand your partner, you will tolerate them love them better, be free i'm communicating with them no mater what the topic is about and you will always trust them.
