February is an interesting month, it’s shorter than most with only 28 days in it. The stores are filled with red and pinks, giant heart shapped balloons, tons of candy, and millions of flowers to celebrate the well known so called holiday, Valentines Day.
Ya see, from a women’s perspective Valentine’s Day is a day to be spoiled. To be bought all these fancy things, make your man spend hundreds of dollars on you and take a picture of all the presents/fancy dinner he takes you too, just to post it and brag about who got the better present.
For me, I’m not into all that junk. All Valentine’s Day is another consumer holiday. Why does your loved one have to go out and spent so much money just to show his love. The chocolate is always gross and overrated, the flowers he buys you will be dead in a week-not even, and the nice romantic dinner he’s gonna take you on will most likely be poor service as the restraunt is super busy. You’ll end up spending more time waiting for a table and your food than the actual time it takes you to eat.
Love isn’t about a holiday, it isn’t about getting the ultimate valentines experience, it isn’t about one day, it should be every single day. For me, I make sure I let know he is loved each and every day. With caring gestures, being genuine, being interested in his insterests, enjoying each other’s company is how I like to let him know I care for him. We don’t have to go out and spend tons of money to let each other know we love one another.
For this year, I will continue to make more memories each and every day, side by side as my love grows each and every day.
